First of all this song is inspired by the books of Stephen Hawking. Its lyrics deal with the ideas of where the universe comes from, where it will go and furthermore why it’s there. The combination of spoken words, witch evoke a lot of fundamental question und the sung poems, about what happens above our heads, shall open up the mind for things we are normally unable to understand.
The architecture of the music is very transparent. Based on a steady and laid back 6/4 beat with a reggae touch and a simple G- baseline, there are only a few sounds following the voice. The main structures are the changing ostinato idea and the “random harmonic concept” with a chilling Rhodes like sound.
